# Commissioning view

A read-only view of a connected relay: mode, behaviour, health, simulation and control models, measured values with units, and the setting group control block with a compare of the active group against the SCL file.

**Safety:** use a test relay or a test server on a test network only, never a relay in service. Read only an IED you are allowed to read during commissioning.

**State:** verified read only against libiec61850 1.6.2 example servers on Linux (a server built from a commissioning sample CID, and `server_example_setting_groups`), with tshark 4.4.9 dissecting the whole read session without a malformed packet. **Not run against any relay or vendor server**, and not on Windows.

The view only reads: it sends MMS Read requests and nothing else. Operating a point, changing the mode or simulation, and selecting or editing a setting group stay with the vendor tool or the station HMI (see [What's next](https://neuralinverse.com/docs/modules/energy/whats-next/)).

## Open the view

1. Connect to the IED (see [Connect to an IED](https://neuralinverse.com/docs/modules/energy/connect-online/)).
2. Run **Show Relay Commissioning View...** and pick the IED.
3. The **<IED> Commissioning** tab says it is read only and has three sections.

## Relay State

- `Mod` (mode), `Beh` (behaviour) and `Health` of the logical devices and nodes;
- the control model (`ctlModel`) of each controllable object, such as `sbo-with-enhanced-security` or `status-only`;
- `LPHD.Sim` (simulation).

Test mode and simulation are highlighted, and a status bar warning ("... in test/simulation") lists every IED last read in a test or test-blocked mode or in simulation from this window. The warning goes when you disconnect.

## Measured Values

Every MX data object of MMXU, MSQI and similar logical nodes, including the phases of a WYE, DEL or SEQ, with magnitude, quality, time and the unit (with multiplier) from the SCL file. Read on demand, or tick **Auto-refresh measured values** to read again every few seconds.

## Setting Groups

The setting group control block (`SGCB`): the number of groups (`NumOfSG`), the active group (`ActSG`), the edit group (`EditSG`), `CnfEdit` and `LActTm`.

**Compare Setting Groups with SCL** reads the active group's live values (FC `SG`) and shows them against the SCL file per setting, with the SCL value and the relay value side by side and differing rows marked. Only the active group is read: reading another group needs an edit selection, which is a write.

**Try it** against `server_example_setting_groups`: the view shows `DEMOPROT: 5 setting groups, active group 1, edit group 0`, and the compare lists the active group's settings against `sg_demo.cid`.

## Limits

- Mode and health names follow the IEC 61850-7-4 ordinals, not the file's own enumeration.
- Dbpos, complex and other measured forms beyond `mag.f` and `cVal.mag.f` are shown as the device sent them.
- The live domain is named `IEDname+ldInst`; an `ldName` override is not matched.

## Not verified

- Any relay or vendor server; Windows.
