# Settings reports

Export a CSV and an HTML report of an IED's settings, with the SHA-256 of the file's bytes, for review and approval.

**State:** modelled. Tested with a hand-written IED; the hash in the report equals the SHA-256 of the file. The HTML has not been opened in a browser outside the tests.

## Export a report

1. Open the IED's settings (see [Relay settings](https://neuralinverse.com/docs/modules/energy/relay-settings/)) and save the file.
2. Run **Export Settings Report** from the Relay Settings editor's title bar or the Command Palette.
3. Pick where to save the CSV, then the HTML. Cancelling writes nothing.

The report is refused while the file has unsaved changes, so it always describes the saved bytes it hashes.

## What the report holds

- The IED and the file.
- The SHA-256 of the file's bytes ("not hashed" where the window cannot hash).
- The date in UTC.
- The setting groups, with the active one.
- Every setting with its FC, type, unit, the value of each group, the template default and where the values came from.
- The statement that it is the module's reading of the file and **not a vendor settings sheet or a sign-off**.

The HTML is one page with no script and no external resource, and marks values the IED sets differently from the template. The CSV starts with a UTF-8 byte order mark so Excel reads non-ASCII names, quotes what it must, and keeps values from being read as spreadsheet formulas.

## Use in approval

Attach the report and the [semantic compare](https://neuralinverse.com/docs/modules/energy/compare/) against the previous version to your organisation's review. The SHA-256 lets a reviewer confirm that the file issued is the file reviewed. Approval and sign-off stay with your organisation's process; the report is not a vendor settings sheet.

## Limits

- Only the settings an SCL file carries are reported; settings kept in vendor projects are not.
- No printing to paper or PDF from the Editor; print the HTML from a browser.

## Not verified

- The HTML in a browser outside the tests; Windows.
