Invalid API key

Error

Invalid OpenAI API key.
Invalid OpenRouter API key.
Invalid Neural Inverse Free Models API key.

Why this happens

The API key stored in your settings is incorrect, expired, or revoked.

For Free Models specifically: your cloud session token expired.

Fix

For cloud providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, etc.)

1. Open Neural Inverse settings (gear icon)
2. Select the provider showing the error
3. Re-enter your API key
4. Verify the key is active at your provider's dashboard:
   • OpenAI: platform.openai.com/api-keys
   • Anthropic: console.anthropic.com
   • OpenRouter: openrouter.ai/keys

For Free Models

Your cloud session expired. Reconnect:

1. Open Remote Explorer in the sidebar
2. Disconnect and reconnect to your Neural Inverse Cloud workspace
3. If using the web IDE: refresh the browser tab

Common causes

• Key was regenerated (old one auto-revokes)
• Provider account suspended for billing
• Key has IP restrictions that don't match your network
• Copy-paste included trailing whitespace
