Verification state: modelled. On the real DeltaV 14.5.1 export: 117 charts (1,104 steps, 1,407 transitions, the largest 90 steps and 117 transitions) and 130 function block diagrams (768 blocks, 1,175 wires) read, every block and parameter placed and every wire end resolving. Charts in modules, module classes and phase classes have not been seen (the real export has them only in composites). The largest chart has not been drawn in the running Editor; not on Windows.
Both views are read only and follow the text: edit the export, and the view shows the change.
Sequences (SFC)
Open Sequence (SFC) picks one of the export's charts, listed with their sizes, and opens a DeltaV Sequence tab:
- At the top, the module's checks of the chart.
- The chart: steps and transitions where the export places them, the initial step and terminating transitions marked, connecting lines drawn by the module (a loop back goes round the right).
- The steps in reading order with their actions (qualifier, type, expression), and each outgoing transition with its condition and target.
Click a step, action or transition to open the text at its name. A chart DeltaV wrote inside a comment is not read.
Function block diagrams
Open Function Block Diagram (also on a module class in the DeltaV Plant view) opens a DeltaV Function Block Diagram tab for a composite, module class or module:
- blocks (function blocks and module blocks), parameters on the diagram, boxes and notes, where the export places them;
- pins placed by the module, inputs left and outputs right (the export does not give them);
- wires drawn through the runs the export stores, feedback wires dashed;
- lists of blocks, parameters and wires below.
Any name opens the text there. Where Control Studio puts a block's connectors and how it routes lines is not known; some real blocks are too short for all their pins at the module's spacing.
