State: modelled. Authoring was run on the 178 public SCL files with a data model with no new finding from the checks; the files that were schema-valid stayed valid for both the module's validator and xmllint; RiseClipse 1.3.0 found nothing new in 817 authoring outputs. No vendor tool has read the result.
Open the file in the System editor (Open IEC 61850 System) and choose the Control Blocks tab. Pick an IED and a logical device.
Data sets
- New Data Set: choose the logical node, a name and the members, picked from the IED's data model with their FC. The data set goes after the others.
- Members: move a member up or down, remove it, or add one from the data model.
- Delete: refused while a control block or log control block uses the data set.
Control blocks
- New GOOSE, New Sampled Values or New Report adds a row with starting values: the next free name, the object reference as its ID, confRev 1, and for GOOSE and Sampled Values an allocated address.
- Edit opens a form whose fields are checked as you type, limited to what the file's edition allows. A wrong field shows a message under it and disables Apply.
- Apply makes every change, address parts included, as one Undo step. A rename follows into the GSE or SMV address and the subscribers'
srcCBName. - Delete asks first when inputs take data from the control block.
New control blocks show at once in the Data Flow tab.
confRev
The confRev of every control block that sends a data set rises by 1 when a member is added, removed or moved, and when its data set changes. See confRev and the change record for the check against a previous version.
Addresses
GOOSE and Sampled Values addresses, here and in Add IED from ICD/IID, come from one allocation:
| Part | Range |
|---|---|
| GOOSE MAC | 01-0C-CD-01-00-00 to 01-0C-CD-01-01-FF |
| Sampled Values MAC | 01-0C-CD-04-00-00 to 01-0C-CD-04-01-FF |
| GOOSE APPID | 0001 to 3FFF |
| Sampled Values APPID | 4000 to 7FFF |
Each value is the next after the highest in use in the station, so a value a deleted control block freed is not handed out again while one above it is in use; values are unique in either letter case. VLAN-ID, VLAN-PRIORITY, MinTime and MaxTime follow the subnetwork, else the station, else 000 and 4; this tab writes MinTime and MaxTime only when you give them. The form refuses a MAC address or APPID used elsewhere. The ranges come from public descriptions of IEC 61850-8-1 and 9-2, not from the standards' text.
Services limits
Creating a control block, a data set or a member is refused past the IED's Services capacity (GOOSE, GSSE, SMVsc and ConfDataSet max, maxAttributes, ConfReportControl max; an access point's own Services first, else the IED's), before anything is asked, with the reason:
IED P001 is full for GOOSE control blocks: GOOSE max in its Services is 1, and it has 1.
Limits
- The tab draws one IED at a time.
- Edition 1 inputs that do not name their control block are not removed when it is deleted.
Not verified
- A vendor tool reading the data sets and control blocks written here; Windows.
